HOW TO USE
- GÜRDAL CALF STARTER FEED must be kept available for the calves from the 4th day until the end of second month.
- Clean and fresh water should be available for 4-day old calves without constraint and should be enough for the calves to drink as they need.
- First Day: At least 3 kg colostrum should be given within the first 1-2 hours of birth.
- 2-4 days: The amount of colostrum to be given to the calf should be at least 10% (at least 4 kg) of its live weight. Calves should be fed with colostrum at least 3 times a day. Normal milk or calf replacer should be given 2 times a day. The amount of milk to be given to calves should not be kept higher than the amounts shown in Table 1. Otherwise, as the calves’ interest in dry food decreases, a lower body weight gain, as well as a slower rumen development, will be achieved.
- As a basic approach, calves should be given milk or replacer up to 10% of their live weight during weaning period.
- When the calves grow to be 35 days old, they should be given good quality dry grass or alfalfa.
- Early or late stages harvest in alfalfa can cause digestive disorders and diarrhea . Bad quality raw roughages like straw should never be used in this period.
- When calves become 60 days old, they should be fed with GÜRDAL CALF GROWER FEED.
AREAS OF USE
- GÜRDAL CALF STARTER FEED is used in the feeding of calves between 4 – 60 days old.
BENEFITS
- Produced from raw materials with high digestibility.
- Accelerates development of rumen.
- Helps preventing calf diarrhea.
- Provides a fast live weight gain.
- Speeds up the development of rumen and increases the benefit from the feed.
